So, you’re here because you have a blog, right? The most commonly asked question in the blogging community is “how do I get more traffic to my blog?” Some bloggers pay good money to learn how to get more traffic to their blog, while others take to spending hours on Pinterest learning how to increase the traffic that’s sent over to their blog. Today, that’s what we’re going to talk about- five foolproof ways to get more traffic to your blog!
Post more content
In case you haven’t heard this already, content = king. More content = more traffic. Your chances of hitting your target audience aren’t going to be as high if you have ten posts on your blog, compared to having one hundred posts on your blog. However, you shouldn’t just put out any content out there. You should put out well thought content ideas. Struggling to come up with content ideas? Pinterest is an amazing application that brings most bloggers 75%-90% of their daily traffic. For my blog, Pinterest generates around 97% of my daily traffic. Isn’t that crazy?! My Pinterest account has around 5k followers and is basically the only reason why I have traffic coming to my blog. It’s an essential tool to use if you’re looking for traffic to come to your blog- if you aren’t using Pinterest, you really should be!
Have a post that you wrote about how to use social media to increase traffic to your blog and now you’re working on creating another blog post on the same topic? Hyperlink to your previous blog post in your new post; this will help to encourage click overs, which increases blog traffic!
Create an e-mail newsletter
If you haven’t already, creating an e-mail newsletter sign up for new visitors is a great way to bring information to an already existing audience. Basically, people who sign up for your e-mail list WANT to see content from you! By sending an e-mail out to your audience weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, you can send new information to an audience who is familiar with your work. In each e-mail you send out, put a link (or two) to posts that are on your blog, to increase click-overs!
Guest posting on other people’s blogs is a great way to increase traffic. All of the active followers on the other person’s blog will come over and check out your blog! If you have great content on your blog, you may have some active followers join your tribe! As long as your guest post is up, you’ll have constant traffic come from the other person’s blog. Guest posting has increased my traffic dramatically- I actually regret not starting sooner!
