That’s right. I said it. While talking about our lady parts may be seen as taboo, it’s still important that we talk about it. I want you all to live happy and healthy lives, so I’m going to tell you about five important things you need to know about your vagina to make sure you’re healthy and your vagina is healthy!

Wear cotton underwear more often

I know, wearing thongs make you feel sexy.

But, don’t hate on cotton underwear! It’s even sexier than thongs, because it helps to keep your vagina healthy!

Wearing cotton underwear allows your vagina to breathe and get rid of excess moisture. If you are a hardcore lover of thongs, go find yourself some cotton underwear!

Take care of your pH levels

If your vagina is itchy, it may be because your pH levels are wacky. How can you fix that?

Well, wear cotton underwear more often.

But, we already talked about that, right? 😉

Once a week, make a warm bath for yourself!

No bubbles or bath bombs(they’re bad for your V)

Instead, pour in half of a cup of apple cider vinegar!

The ACV neutralizes your pH levels, which eliminates your pH caused itch!

Don’t over clean your vagina

You can over clean your vagina! You only need to wash down there once a day. Do NOT douche! I repeat, DO NOT DOUCHE!
Over cleaning your vagina can cause yeast/bacterial infections- but can also cause odor and discolored discharge.

Clean your vagina once a day and once a day only. Your vagina is a self-cleaning system, so you don’t need to do much more to make sure that it stays clean!

Invest in a soap JUST for your vagina

While scented and colored soaps are all fun, they’re horrible to use for your vagina. The colorant and/or scents in the soap mess with your V/s pH levels- which you now know is very bad.

Do NOT use products like Summer’s Eve. While they market themselves to be for your vagina, it’s no different than using shampoo to clean down there. DO NOT USE IT! Again, your vagina is self-cleaning and you don’t need to use a product to make it ‘extra’ clean.

If you do have odor, make sure to set an appointment with your lady doctor, as it’s a sign that something is wrong.

Stop wearing panty liners all of the time

While you may be embarrassed about the discharge your vagina leaves on your underwear, wearing panty liners all of the time can be harmful to your privates. The excess moisture that’s on the panty liner can lead to bacterial and yeast infections. If you’re worried about the color of your discharge, make sure to go talk to your lady doctor!
