E.L.F. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearl- Is It Really Worth It?
If you’ve been on Pinterest, like ever, you’ve probably seen tons and TONS of dupes for high-end/luxury makeup. I’m always seeing that E.L.F’s baked highligher in Moonlight Pearl is a dupe for one of MAC’S highlighter.
While this post isn’t going to talk about whether it truly is a dupe for MAC or not, I am going to talk about my personal opinion of this product!
Is it really worth the hype?
The first picture on this blog post is a swatch of the highlighter. When I first ordered it and received it in the mail, I was sad, because I felt like there was NO pigment.
However, I’ve had this problem with highlighters before. For some strange reason, cosmetic companies put some type of thin layer on a product in order to prevent the product from getting damaged, I guess. I had to scratch off this thin layer with a bobby pin on my E.L.F. highlighter, but also on my The Balm Manizier.
Once I scratched off the top layer, the pigment came out! As you can see in the pictures, there is such an incredible glow! I paid $3 for this on Ulta.com and I would most definitely recommend it to other people who are looking for an inexpensive way to get a glow!
- Quality pigment
- No fallout
- A lot of product for the cost
- Great to use for glam or everyday looks
- Some people may think that the packaging is ‘cheap’
- Had that weird top coat that protected the product that I had to scratch off
As you can see, I couldn’t really find much to complain about. I’ve had this product for a while and I really wanted to make sure that I found the best and worst parts of this product to tell you all about!
For the price, there really isn’t much to complain about. I would definitely go and tell you to go pick this up if you have an extra $3!
What do you think about this highlighter? Do you think you’re going to purchase it?
